Cannes Film Festival 2012 - Diane Kruger, Kirsten Dunst

The Cannes Film Festival is flying high at the moment and serving up red carpet glamour to the maximum and yesterday I really loved two looks. Look number one was jury member Diane Kruger attending the premiere of Killing Them Softly, wearing a beautiful Nina Ricci gown, Judith Leiber clutch, Prada sandals and Boucheron jewellery. This is my favourite look of Diane's so far because I adore everything about her entire look, the dress is romantic and feminine, her 40's hairstyle compliments the style of dress to perfection and keeping accessories to a minimum lets the dress stand out on it's own as it should. Absolutely beautiful.

Then my second favourite look was Kirsten Dunst attending the photocall for On The Road, wearing a Dolce & Gabbana dress and headband from their Fall/Winter 2012 collection, Van Cleef & Arpels watch and Charlotte Olympia shoes. Again, I love this entire look, the dress fits Kirsten like a glove and I love that she chose to wear the headband (from the same collection as the dress) because I've been waiting for someone to wear one one the red carpet as I absolutely LOVE the headbands from Dolce & Gabbana's FW12 collection and it looks beautiful intertwined into a bohemian braid! The only thing I can't quite love about Kirsten's look is the shoes, they look too big which therefore makes her feet too big and heavy, an open toe pump or strappy sandal would have looked more fresh and youthful.

For Kirsten's look I would have chosen a more modern style shoe like this sandal from Christian Louboutin, which picks up the pastels and gold in her headband but keeps the outfit contemporary...

...or this sandal from Manolo Blahnik which also has a hint of pastels and metallic, which would have complimented the colours in her headband and kept the outfit interesting.
