Playing It Cool

This beautiful shot by Annie Leibovitz, from an editorial entitled 'Playing It Cool' featured in the September issue of Vogue US has fuelled my excitement for my favourite season, Autumn/Winter. Style-wise it's my favourite season as I have mentioned on here before- knitwear, hats, boots, layering, rich colours are all reason why I love it so much. I have an absolute true love and passion for coats, so this picture, as beautiful and striking as it is, really made me wish for Autumn to begin as soon as possible!

TOPSHOP / Wish-List

I am beginning to get into Fall-mode and by that I don't mean retiring my summer clothes and getting out my sweaters just yet, I mean that I'm on the look out at all the F/W collections entering stores & online and I'm gradually buying a few new pieces here and there for the colder and my favourite seasons ahead. Speaking of getting into Fall-mode, I thought it was a while since I had a browse on TOPSHOP's website so I decided to do just that today. Of course there were some things that caught my eye and I'll be making sure I add them to my closet just in time for Fall/Winter.

Nails So Fancy

With Autumn slowly but surely approaching, I do find myself getting quite happy about that because as much as I like Summer I have to say I love Autumn/Winter. I love the colder weather, I love wearing layers, I love the rich jewel tones associated with the A/W months; I just prefer that time of year for many reasons! So around this time of year, shops are filling up with autumnal collections and my mind starts to get into that mode, stocking up on a few new pieces for the season ahead, and it's not just clothes & accessories- I love to start stocking up on a few nice new colour nail varnishes. Which brings me to this post, I have taken some of the nail trends for A/W'14 and then picked my favourite colours, which includes neutrals, reds, greys and metallic. So here's the best nail polish colours out there for A/W'14.

Prada Menswear FW14 / James McAvoy

Here's the ad campaign for Prada's Fall/Winter '14/15 menswear collection. Starring the very handsome James McAvoy and photographed by Annie Leibovitz.

What a gorgeous campaign. I love the dark, moody and mysterious theme, and that it's fuss free letting the clothes, James and the beautiful photography do all the talking, that is all that is needed for a truly great campaign. The styling is great and this seems to be a more relaxed and natural photography style from Annie, who usually creates very over-the-top, dramatic and overly edited photos, so seeing this fresh, new style from her is promising. Although I like Annie's photography from time to time, it is this less-is-more style from her that is my favourite. As for James, well he's gorgeous and hugely talented and can do no wrong. Big applause for a stunning ad campaign.
