Double Take - ZARA v Givenchy

Designer items are a little out of price range for a lot of people around the world and some have the pleasure of buying many a designer item but for a lot of people including myself it's rather pleasing to sometimes come across a designer lookalike whether it be clothing, shoes or jewellery at a fraction of the price of the real thing. Which brings me to this post, a bag I noticed on ZARA's website the other day which made me instantly think of the 'Obsedia' bag from Givenchy. Yes, the ZARA bag doesn't have the metal cross and ring style emblem that is associated with the 'Obsedia' but it does have a similar cross on the fold over. The one thing that would make you excuse this minor difference in the price tag- the ZARA bag is an affordable £39.99/€49.95/$79.90 and the Givenchy 'Obdesia' is on average £1,200. That is some difference.

A/W 2013 Wish-List

After a relaxing vacation it's time to get back into the swing of things. So, my first feature is due to the fact that there is no avoiding the A/W collections in stores right now, and I ain't complaining because Autumn/Winter are my favourite seasons (no, I am not crazy!) because I love layering, I love wearing boots and coats and all the beautiful metallic, dark colours and jewel tones that come hand in hand with Autumn/Winter, even while on vacation I bought quite a few items for the seasons ahead. So I couldn't help but create a few collages of my favourite pieces from the A/W collections, and let me say wish-lists are a great idea until you realise the pictures on the computer screen are about as close as your going to get to these designers beauties- sad face. Saying that though it does not stop me from having an abundance of wish-lists and this one is one of my most loved and wishful and if there are any fashion gods out there who want to bring any of the featured items here into my life I would be most grateful!
Enjoy...

Céline, Thigh-High Boot Heaven

Oh I do adore these beauties from Céline's A/W '13 Collection, the 'Thigh High Boot Rider in Calfskin  Navy' has one of the top place positions on my wishlist for this A/W. Even though my closet contains quite a lot of black I must say lately I've been steering towards the colour navy when buying pieces, I think it's going to be a popular colour for this A/W, after all navy is one of those timeless and classic colours and couldn't be more complimentary of the jewel tones we will be seeing for the coming months. This boots are just all kinds of awesome- I love how they fit like a second skin and not baggy like some thigh-high boots making legs look thick and I also love the contrast of the wooden heel against the navy leather. I need them in my closet, I need them in my life. Phoebe Philo, you give me life.
