Natasha Poly in Oscar de la Renta / Cannes Film Festival '14

So this years Cannes Film Festival is currently under way and although there is a full 12 days of festivities the full on glamour, the dramatic gowns and jewels haven't really been happening yet, until I saw this look from Natasha Poly who always brings true glamour and perfection to Cannes. Her gown is by Oscar de la Renta and De Grisogono jewels and I love that she kept her hair simple and sleek and brought the whole look together with the dramatic smokey eye. She is utter perfection.
Magnifique.

Cannes Film Festival 2012 - Cosmopolis Premiere Best Dressed

The premiere of Cosmopolis yesterday at the Cannes Film Festival brought out my favourite looks of the day. My absolute favourite was the beautiful Liya Kebede wearing a custom Proenza Schouler mini dress, with influences from their FW12 collection, she stole the show for me because she was unique in the fact she rocked up wearing a mini dress when everyone else went for full length gowns therefore she stood out from the pack, and there's the little fact that I LOVE her custom dress quite a bit and it has to be one of my favourite red carpet looks from Cannes this year. Two other ladies stood out for me both happened to be wearing red, Natasha Poly wearing a sexy Roberto Cavalli dress (Resort '13 collection, not yet previewed) and Kristen Stewart wearing Reem Acra (Pre-Fall 12 collection).

I love her makeup, it looks like absolute perfection and I also love love love those Boucheron earrings. Gorgeous

Cannes Film Festival 2012 - Nicole Kidman & amfAR Ladies

So, I have more than one favourite look from yesterdays happenings at The Cannes Film Festival. The amfAR annual Cinema Against Aids had quite it's usual stylish attendees, a few of them serve as my favourite looks from Cannes, the only one not from the amfAR gala was that of Nicole Kidman who was attending the premiere of The Paperboy. So here we go...

Nicole Kidman wearing a Lanvin gown and Cartier jewellery.

amfAR Gala

Karolina Kurkova wearing Roberto Cavalli (from the SS12 collection)

Natasha Poly wearing an Emilio Pucci gown (from the FW12 collection), Emilio Pucci clutch and Azzedine Alaia shoes.

Lily Donaldson wearing a J. Mendel gown (from SS12 collection), Jimmy Choo shoes.

Isabeli Fontana wearing Versace.

Doutzen Kroes wearing a Versace dress (from the FW12 collection), Azzedine Alaia clutch.

Nina Dobrev wearing an Elie Saab dress (from the SS12 collection), Jimmy Choo shoes, Bulgari jewellery.

Even though Nina looks absolutely gorgeous, I can't help but dislike those silver shoes with the dress, I feel it makes it look a bit showgirl. A coloured or neutral sandal would have been much better I would have chosen either one of these...

The colours in this Jimmy Choo sandal would compliment the colour of Nina's dress without attracting away was from it, and jewellery or a clutch bag of similar tones could have been chosen to pick up the colours in the shoe.

Or I would have chosen this neutral Giuseppe Zanotti sandal which would also flatter the colour blue of the dress, I just feel the silver is cold against the blue, and doesn't breathe any life into the overall look making it look old fashioned and dated. Just saying!

Cannes Film Festival 2012 - Natasha Poly & Isabeli Fontana

My favourite looks from yesterday at the Cannes Film Festival were from models Natasha Poly (yes, again!) attending the premiere of Holy Motors and Isabeli Fontana attending a de Grisogono party. Natasha was wearing an Emilio Pucci gown & clutch bag and Christian Louboutin shoes, I love that she didn't wear jewellery and made her hair and makeup be the accessories. I LOVE her hair like that, in a tousled side plait and complimented with sultry smoky eyes. She looks flawless as always.

My second favourite look was from Isabeli Fontana who was looking effortlessly beautiful wearing a Dolce & Gabbana dress and a de Grisogono necklace. She looks so hot, and I have hair envy!

Cannes Film Festival 2012 - Diane Kruger, Kirsten Dunst

The Cannes Film Festival is flying high at the moment and serving up red carpet glamour to the maximum and yesterday I really loved two looks. Look number one was jury member Diane Kruger attending the premiere of Killing Them Softly, wearing a beautiful Nina Ricci gown, Judith Leiber clutch, Prada sandals and Boucheron jewellery. This is my favourite look of Diane's so far because I adore everything about her entire look, the dress is romantic and feminine, her 40's hairstyle compliments the style of dress to perfection and keeping accessories to a minimum lets the dress stand out on it's own as it should. Absolutely beautiful.

Then my second favourite look was Kirsten Dunst attending the photocall for On The Road, wearing a Dolce & Gabbana dress and headband from their Fall/Winter 2012 collection, Van Cleef & Arpels watch and Charlotte Olympia shoes. Again, I love this entire look, the dress fits Kirsten like a glove and I love that she chose to wear the headband (from the same collection as the dress) because I've been waiting for someone to wear one one the red carpet as I absolutely LOVE the headbands from Dolce & Gabbana's FW12 collection and it looks beautiful intertwined into a bohemian braid! The only thing I can't quite love about Kirsten's look is the shoes, they look too big which therefore makes her feet too big and heavy, an open toe pump or strappy sandal would have looked more fresh and youthful.

For Kirsten's look I would have chosen a more modern style shoe like this sandal from Christian Louboutin, which picks up the pastels and gold in her headband but keeps the outfit contemporary...

...or this sandal from Manolo Blahnik which also has a hint of pastels and metallic, which would have complimented the colours in her headband and kept the outfit interesting.
