As awards season is upon us for 2013 and the Golden Globes happening tomorrow night I couldn't help but wonder what the acting elite will wear to the ball, or I should rephrase that as what I would like to see everyone wearing [if I was living the dream and getting to style some of the most talented actresses in the world]. I have listed most of the female nominees and some who are presenting on the night but some of these ladies might not be attending so I'm just picking for the ones I think for sure will be gracing the Golden Globes red carpet. So- here are my choices...
Tina Fey |
My choice for the ceremony's co-host Tina is this beautiful gown from Armani Privé Fall 2012 collection. |
Amy Poehler |
As co-host number two, I picked a stand-out yet simplistic gown from Monique Lhuillier Pre-Fall 2013 collection for Amy. Keeping jewellery minimalistic, this gown would do all the talking. |
Marion Cotillard |
As the ultimate Dior girl, Marion would wear this dress by of course from Christian Dior Spring 2013 collection to perfection. I would style it with the shoes worn with the dress in the picture and a statement collar necklace. |
Adele |
Adele will be making here first public appearence for quite some time at the Golden Globes tomorrow night, so here dress needs to be a special one. This pleated black and navy beauty from Valentino Couture Fall 2012 collection would be my choice for Adele, styled with some haute jewellery this would be a classic and knock-out look. |
Jessica Chastain |
I chose this look from Carolina Herrera Spring 2013 collection for Jessica, as I thought the colours are fresh and youthful and the fact that it's a top and skirt would be a stand-out and unique look. Styled with some simple gold jewellery and a statment clutch this would make a memorable look. |
Amanda Seyfried |
This dress from Elie Saab Spring 2013 collection would look incredible on Amanda, with her colouring the beautiful blue hues of the dress would be really striking. The modern combination of lace on the bodice and striped semi sheer skirt would be classic and youthful. |
Anne Hathaway |
My choice for Anne is this stunning gown from Valentino Couture Fall 2012 collection. We all know her strong connection to the house of Valentino and that she wears the designs so well and so my reasons for this selection can speak for themselves. She would look flawless in this gown and with her short hair now the high neckline and long sleeves wouldn't look too busy as if it would with long loose hair. |
Jennifer Lawrence |
This Emilio Pucci Spring 2013 collection dress (obviously with some added lining) would be a striking choice for Jennifer. She's gorgeous and young and would wear the hell out of this dress, with minimal accessories this would be a sexy, knock-out look on the night. |
Jessica Alba |
I would pick this modern, simple but striking dress from Donna Karan Pre-Fall 2013 for Jessica. The colour would look beautiful against Jessica's skin tone, and styled with statement jewellery possibly with contrasting coloured stones to keep the look edgy and modern. |
This beautiful dress from Sophie Theallet Spring 2013 collection would look stunning on Claire. The deep olive green colour of the dress would compliment Claire's skin tone and hair colouring superbly. Minimal jewellery would be ideal, and possibly a statement turquoise stone cocktail ring would look great and bring out the turquoise lining of the dress (which is not visible in this picture.) |
Naomi Watts |
This gown from Naeem Khan Pre-Fall 2013 collection would be a great choice for Naomi. The soft neutral colour of the gown would look beautiful on Naomi and with the embellishment on the bodice there jewellery would need to be kept very minimal in order to let the gown stand out. |
Amy Adams |
I chose this beautiful gown from Roland Mouret Pre-Fall 2013 collection for Amy. I love its modern femininity and the mix of a flowing silk skirt with the laced bodice with long sleeves, and the belt around the waist finishes the look beautifully. This gown would look stunning on Amy, and styled with some simple jewellery and a statement clutch would make this look to the best dressed lists. |
Julianne Moore |
This Emilio Pucci Pre-Fall 2013 dress would be my choice for Julianne. It's classic yet modern and the crisp white would look fresh against Julianne's hair colour and skin tone, this dress could be accessorised with some beautiful haute jewellery. |
Nicole Kidman |
I chose this beautiful dress from Nina Ricci Pre-Fall 2013 collection for Nicole. I always like when Nicole wears black, it always looks striking on her and this dress would be no different because I think the feminine and classic Nina Ricci style suits her perfectly. |
Julianna Margulies |
This Oscar de la Renta gown from his Spring 2013 collection would look incredible on Julianna. Styled like the runway look, with minimal accessories only statement earrings, bracelet and simple shoes this would be top of the best dressed lists on Monday morning. |
Jennifer Lopez |
Jennifer would look stunning in this gown from Badgley Mischka Pre-Fall 2013 collection. Its art deco style embellishment would leave very little space for jewellery as the dress is powerful enough on its own it doesn't need to be fighting for attention with accessories. Some simple stud earrings, a statement ring and a plain minaudière would complete this look. |
Zooey Deschanel |
Zooey has a quirky/retro/classic style and she always suits Oscar de la Renta's designs, this show stopping gown from his Spring 2013 collection would be the perfect choice for her. I would choose a few small simple pieces of jewellery either with white diamonds or plain gold. |
Sally Field |
Sally would look beautiful and elegant in this dress from Monique Lhuillier's Pre-Fall 2013 collection. The flattering v-neckline on this dress wouldn't need a necklace because of the metallic pattern, so I would choose some simple drop earrings and a statement ring. |
Emily Blunt |
The silver/ice blue colour of this dress from Monique Lhuillier's Spring 2013 collection, would compliment Emily's colouring beautifully and as it's shoulders to toe embellishment I would simply choose some simple diamond stud earrings and a plain coloured clutch to complete the look. |
Megan Fox |
I chose this dress from Cushnie et Ochs Pre-Fall 2013 collection for Megan. It's modern, simple, sexy yet classic and I think it would look incredible on Megan, paired with some bold plain gold jewellery, va-va-voom hair and make-up and this look would be complete. |
Glenn Close |
I chose this dress from Badgley Mischka Pre-Fall 2013 collection for Glenn, its classic silhouette would suit her elegant style and the off the shoulder neckline keeps the dress feminine and modern. |
Hayden Panettiere |
I chose this dress from Elie Saab Spring 2013 collection for Hayden because it's modern, fresh and youthful. The bright raspberry pink would compliment Hayden's colouring perfectly and would make this a knock-out look. |
Helena Bonham Carter |
How could I pick any other designer but Vivienne Westwood for Helena? She wears VW designs perfectly and this dress from the Spring 2013 Gold Label collection would be absolutely no different she would look awesome. |
Meryl Streep |
This look from Ralph Lauren's Spring 2013 collection would be the perfect choice for Meryl's classic style. The relaxed element of the crisp white shirt paired with the evening skirt would suit Meryl's refined style as she always manages to look effortless and not over done like some do. |
Rachel Weisz |
I chose this dress from Nina Ricci Pre-Fall 2013 collection for Rachel because of the simple fact that this pale blue would look beautiful with her skin tone and dark hair. Styled with a statement cuff and some drop earrings this would be a feminine and elegant look. |
Helen Mirren |
This look from Michael Kors Pre-Fall 2013 collection would be the perfect choice for the elegant Helen Mirren. The classic black gown could be accessorised with statement jewellery galore to add a touch of sparkle and a minaudière to complete the look. |
That's my choices for just some of the stars nominated and presenting who are sure to be attending tonight's Golden Globes now all we have to do is look forward to the red carpet and see who wears what...
